Dogs Changed My Life, Dogopo Is My Way of Giving Back
Some companies are born after months of market research. Others begin with spreadsheets, business plans, and consumer trends. Dogopo started from something much simpler and much more meaningful.
Love! It wasn’t about building another business. It was about the unconditional love I have for dogs.
People often ask me, as the founder of Dogopo, what inspired me to start this journey. My answer is always the same. It wasn’t about spotting a business opportunity or finding a gap in the market. It was my lifelong bond with dogs.
Since I was a child, I can’t remember a day without spending time with dogs. They’ve always been part of my life and have shaped who I am. Sometimes, I feel like I don’t just find dogs; they find me too. No matter where I go, whether it’s a busy city or a quiet highway, I almost always meet a dog. It feels like they know I’m their friend.
One thing that surprises many people is what they find inside my car. Nearly every day, it is stocked with packets of dog biscuits. Not because I own a dog care brand, but because I never want to miss an opportunity to feed a hungry stray.
I often joke that I’m one of the biggest buyers of dog biscuits. In reality, I’m probably one of the biggest buyers of Parle-G biscuits too. I know this may spark debate, and I completely understand why. Ideally, dogs should not be given sugary biscuits, and I agree that nutritionally balanced dog food is always the better choice.
However, the reality on the streets is often very different. Sometimes, you come across a stray dog that is exhausted, starving, and has gone without food for days. In those moments, when no healthier option is immediately available, I believe that offering something to eat is far better than walking away and leaving the dog hungry. Hunger poses a far more immediate threat than the occasional biscuit given in an emergency.
That experience is one of the reasons Dogopo is working on developing healthy, affordable dog biscuits. My hope is that, in the near future, people who care for community dogs will have an easily available option that is made specifically for dogs – so no one has to choose between feeding a hungry dog and feeding the wrong kind of food. I want it to be available everywhere, in every corner shop.
Meeting so many dogs over the years taught me something important.
Every dog deserves healthy food, regardless of whether it sleeps on a luxurious bed or under the open sky.
That idea inspired what will soon be one of Dogopo’s most important products.
We are currently working day and night to develop Dogopo Dog Biscuits – nutritious, safe, honestly priced, and made exclusively for dogs. We’ve spent months researching ingredients, evaluating recipes, and identifying manufacturing partners who share our commitment to quality. We’ve already shortlisted a few excellent partners, and if everything goes according to plan, Dogopo Dog Biscuits will be available in the coming months.
But for us, this is not just about launching another product.
We don’t believe in adding products to our catalogue just to expand our range. Every product with the Dogopo name has to earn its place.
If I wouldn’t confidently give it to my own dogs or to the many Indies I meet each week, it doesn’t belong at Dogopo.
These days, many brands use words like premium, luxury, or exclusive. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s not what Dogopo is about. Our mission is much simpler than that.
We want every dog to have safe, well-made, and fairly priced products.
Whether it’s an Indie searching for food on the streets, a rescued dog finding a second chance, or a beloved family companion living comfortably at home, every dog deserves the very best. Love should never depend on a breed, a pedigree, or a price tag.
That belief also guides our responsibility beyond business.
Dogopo has committed 5% of its profits towards the welfare of Indie dogs in need. This commitment includes providing food, supporting medical care, and working on projects that make a real difference – such as installing and maintaining clean water bowls for community dogs, especially during India’s harsh summers.
At Dogopo, we are committed to promoting “Don’t Shop, Adopt” and encouraging more families to open their hearts and homes to Indie dogs. Through our awareness initiatives, we strive to inspire adoption, compassion, and responsible pet parenting.
We also actively support and promote “Adopt Indies” and “Feed Community Dogs” campaigns almost every single day, because we believe every dog—whether living on the streets or in a loving home – deserves food, care, dignity, and a chance at a better life.
For us, success isn’t just about sales or revenue. It will be measured by the number of tails that wag because of something we created.
It’s about how many hungry dogs get a meal, how many injured dogs get treatment, and how many lives are a little happier because Dogopo cares.
Dogopo isn’t just a brand.
It’s a promise.
A promise that every decision we make, every product we launch, and every step we take will always begin with one simple question:
“Is this truly good for dogs?”
If the answer is yes, we’ll build it.
If the answer is no, we’ll keep working until it is.
Our vision is bigger than building another dog care company. We aspire to make Dogopo one of the most loved and trusted dog care brands – not just in India, but across the world. We want to earn that trust through the quality of our products, fair pricing, and a mission that always puts dogs before profits.
Our success will never be defined only by the number of products we sell. It will be defined by the number of dogs we help, the trust we earn from dog parents, and the positive impact we create for every dog – from the Indies on our streets to the beloved companions in our homes.
Because Dogopo was built with one purpose:
To make the world a better place for every dog.
